How much is your price per print?
Price per print will be based on the image size and ink coverage. The NeoRIP Pro dynamically creates the white underbase layer. This means that only the minimum of white ink will be used to recreate the color desired. The final print will include the ink and the garment color incorporated in the print. Average prices have dropped from $2-$3 a print to $1-$2 a print using this method.
How much time does 1 print take?
The NeoFlex system has multiple modes of printing from our Production Mode to our High Res Mode. In a production mode a 10×12 image will take 3 minutes total for both white and color layer. The print time may be shorter than 3 minutes however the maximum print time will be 3 minutes. In a High Res Mode you can expect the print time to be twice as long. What is your printable area?
The NeoFlex’s printable area is 17×42 inches. This area can be divided into as many sub divisions within the 17×42 inch print area.. Each sub division can be used to print different images and different colored shirts.
What sets your printer apart from the rest?
The versatility of having a flat bed system allows the user to have custom platens of any size within the printable area and allows for printing of images up to 17×42. Having a modular system allows users to switch between multiple options of printing. These options include:
- Textile for garment printing
- Solvent for all other substrates
- Edible for edible products
- Coming Soon UV ink.
I hear white ink is a nightmare is this true?
White ink has been difficult to deal with in the past. Due to modern advancements in white ink technology and a better understanding how to maintain white ink, maintaining a white ink system has become much easier. Paired with the NeoFlex’s auto cleaning function and the maintenance schedule we have put together, white ink is no longer a nightmare.
Do you have to pretreat your garments?
It is required to pretreat any garment that requires white ink to be printed. Printing on white garments or very light garments it is not required to pretreat however, it is recommended.
Do you have to print white as an underbase?
Yes a white underbase on colored and dark garments is a must as it will allow you to retain the true colors that the user desires.
How many prints can I get out of 1 full set of cartridges?
Although the number of prints is directly related to the image size and color on average, a user can expect 150-250 garments out of the white cartridges and 500-800 prints from the colors. These values are based on 220 mL sealed ink cartridges.
Can I print on polyesters and poly-blends?
Polyesters and poly-blends can be printed on. However there are limitations. The more polyester content there is in your garment, the white ink will either not adhere properly or fade significantly after the heat press. For light colored or white polyester garments paired with the polyester pretreatment the colors should work on a majority of the polyester materials.
What is the maintenance procedure like?
We have a maintenance schedule laid out to help maintain your machine. The majority of the maintenance is cleaning areas that come in direct contact with your print head and ink. These parts include the wiper blade, capping station and the area next to the print head.
What do I do if I go on vacation?
Depending on the length of your vacation you should consult with technical support. If you are planning on taking a vacation for more than a week, the printer should be flushed out.
How long does it take to switch between a textile and solvent printer?
The process takes no longer than 2 minutes. 3 plugs are removed: USB, Power, and 15 pin connector. The printer is then removed and replaced with a printer of your choosing.
How much is cost per print with the solvent printer?
The cost per print using solvent ink is very dependent on the surface the user is printing on. As different substrates have different thresholds for ink deposit. In most cases a print will run no more than a few cents. Most people find that the cost per print with the solvent printer is negligible. The focus is more on the setup time and run time of the units as this will be the biggest cost factor.
How many washes can I expect the tshirts to last?
On average the print endure 25-30 washes before seeing any significant deterioration. The durability of a print will be based on the pretreatment process and heat pressing process. The only other factor that can affect the durability will be the type of garment being used.
What media can the solvent printer print on?
The solvent can print on a variety of media: plastic, metal, wood, glass, leather etc… Although you have the ability to print on all these media type it will not work on every one out there. Depending on the coating and material you will incur varying results.
Is the software hard to learn?
The basic functions of the software are very easy and our technical staff will be more than happy to walk you through the process. The basic functions include: Opening an image, dragging and dropping the image, selecting a shirt color then hitting print. There are also advanced functions of the rip software such as adding chokes to specific areas of the image that is masked through Photoshop.
My print looks dull and faded what am I doing wrong?
There are many causes for dull prints, here are a few that are often the cause.
- Inadequate amount of pretreatment.
- Not enough set time for the white underbase
- Not enough white underbase
- Separated white ink
- Loss of nozzles
