Shift into Top Gear
Blazing print speed
Ever feel like you've been waiting all day for a print? Not with the SOLJET PRO II. They can print up to 28 /hr (300 sqft/hr). That's not draft mode; that's a unique, sign-quality mode created by Roland especially for sign, exhibit and POP makers! Printing a large 1.3 x 5m banner now takes only 14 minutes. But blazing print speed is only part of the story. The PRO II's remarkable production velocity is the result of numerous technological enhancements.
High-Speed Data Processing and Transfer
SOLJET PRO II supports Ethernet 100Base-TX networks for high-speed data transfer and workgroup operation. Included with the SOLJET PRO II, the new, more powerful Roland SelectColor software RIP (RSC) has been designed especially for the PRO II family.*2) The RIP engine incorporates more horsepower and efficiency for faster data processing. RSC also provides more powerful simultaneous RIP&Print capabilities to speed up your daily operation.
*2) RSC is compatible with Windows® 2000/XP as a network server or stand-alone, and Windows® 98/Me/2000/XP as network client.

New wider heads - 360 nozzles per color
Six one-inch precision heads cover a large printing area while firing 360 nozzles per color.

Unsurpassed print quality
True 1440*1440 dpi resolution
Included in RSC, IntelligentPrintControl delivers a major advance in printing quality combined with unbelievable ease-of-use. All you need to do is select the media, preferred print quality and speed from the menu. IntelligentPrintControl automatically determines the optimum dot size, dot combinations, dot placement, tone curve, and the proper amount of ink for each individual media

Variable droplet technology-Only SOLJET has it
Roland was the first to introduce variable droplet technology in the wide format printing market and, with the PRO II family, we're the first to incorporate it into a solvent device. Variable droplet technology allows the SOLJET PRO II to employ three different sized micro-droplets for stunning detail and color fidelity even at high speed. In combination with RSC, variable droplet technology delivers uncompromising quality for the most discerning applications.
Intelligent Print Control
The SOLJET PRO II combines Piezo print heads, providing precise droplets under stable control, and variable droplet technology to achieve stunning color reproduction. The crisp detail and high fidelity of the SOLJET PRO II's true 1440 x 1440 dpi resolution make it ideal for enlargements of fine art, photography, or mural-size graphics. Downy soft hairs, finely textured human skin-these are but a sample of the SOLJET PRO II's amazing ability to reproduce photographic quality.

Precision Contour Cutting
Once an image has been printed, the SOLJET PRO II SC-540 printer / cutter can automatically contour cut your design without having to reload or reposition the media. With its curve smoothing function, the SC-540 cuts elegant arcs and curves with incredible accuracy at speeds up to 600 mm/ sec (24"/sec). Should you need to laminate your work, "Quadralign" - Roland's unique 4-point optical registration system allows you to
remove a print, laminate and then reload it for perfect contour cutting. The SC-540 realigns the cutting path and even compensates for skew and distortion *3).
*3) A large amount of distortion or poor reloading may affect contour cutting results.

Unsurpassed Color Reproduction
Precise color management
Designed to maximize performance of the SOLJET PRO II, RSC provides professional quality printing including precision color management. RSC is PostScript compatible, making the SOLJET PRO II easy to use with Adobe® Photoshop®, Adobe® Illustrator®, Macromedia FreeHand®, QuarkXPress™ and other popular graphics software.

As safe to use as it is Brilliant to see
Another key to the brilliant color produced by the SOLJET PRO II is SOL INK which offers a combination of exceptionally bright color as well as UV stability. Roland's low-volatility SOL INK is easy and safe to use, yet provides vibrant graphics that are water and UV resistant for up to three years outdoors when used with SOL MEDIA. Odor is virtually the same as standard pigment inks and requires no special ventilation or environmental equipment.
6-color printing
The SOLJET PRO II employs 6-color printing with CMYK plus light cyan (Lc) and light magenta (Lm) to faithfully reproduce skin tones, soft pastels and metallic surfaces with superb, natural color gradations. The SOLJET PRO II uses two 220 cc ink cartridges per color.

SOL MEDIA
Developed specifically for the SOLJET and SOL INK, SOL MEDIA provides signmakers with optimum performance for durable outdoor and indoor applications including signs, banners, floor decals and vehicle graphics.*4)
*4) The most severe applications, such as floor and vehicle graphics, require lamination.

Ease of use & Roland reliability
Quick and Easy contour cutting
The SC-540 makes quick work of contour cutting window signs, decals, labels, point of purchase displays and packaging prototypes. It can also function independently as a stand-alone vinyl cutter for sign or display production. Printing and cutting operations can be handled simultaneously from a variety of software applications including Adobe® Illustrator®, Adobe® PageMaker®, CorelDRAW®, and QuarkXPress™. Simply draw a line for contour cutting and assign the line to be cut.

Enhanced features to simplify operation
